August, 2020

Obesity has been linked to health conditions including Type 2 diabetes, dementia, cancer and heart disease and we are now being made aware that carrying extra pounds makes us more likely to be badly affected by Covid-19. We have a number of initiatives which can support you in making changes to reduce your risk

Public Health England (PHE) have found that being overweight or obese can dramatically increase the risk of hospitalisation and death from coronavirus. In response to this finding the Government have published a strategy to tackle the 'obesity crisis' – follow this link for full details

We have a number of initiatives which can support you if you decide you would like to do something to reduce your risk. We know that the hardest thing about trying to lose weight and becoming more active is consistency and we can help with this by providing a Volunteer Wellbeing Coach who will support you.

We run online support groups or can arrange for 1 to 1 sessions whichever you prefer. If you want to find out more please contact us.
